Ingredients

  • 1 head of broccoli
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp of extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • zest from one lemon
  • a pinch of chili flakes
  • optional add-ons: toasted pumpkin seeds freshly grated parmesan, and/or truffle oil.

Instructions

  • Cut the broccoli into florets and then rinse them in cold water. Dry the broccoli florets by patting them dry.
  • Season the broccoli florets with salt and black pepper, and toss with 1 tbsp of olive oil.
  • Preheat the air fryer according to the manufacturer’s instructions (or for about 3 minutes if unsure).
  • Place the broccoli florets in the air fryer in one layer and cook at 390°F (200°C) for about 5-6 minutes. Then flip and cook for another 5-6 minutes until nicely charred on the outside (for a total of about 10-12 minutes).
  • Mix the remaining 1 tbsp of olive oil, 1 tbsp of lemon juice, and zest from one lemon, a pinch of chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
  • Toss the air-fried broccoli florets with the lemon dressing (from step 5). The broccoli is now fried, dressed, and ready to be served.
  • Optional: Serve with toasted pumpkin seeds, parmesan, and/or truffle oil.
