Ingredients

  • 4 baking potatoes Russet, Maris Piper, or King Edwards
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil or another oil you prefer
  • 1 tbsp of kosher salt
  • optional baked potato toppings such as sour cream, cheddar, spring onions, bacon, and others

Instructions

  • Wash the potatoes (scrubbing them well to remove any dirt) and then pat them dry.
  • Poke holes in the potatoes with a knife or fork and then rub them with oil and season them with salt.
  • Preheat the air fryer for a few minutes (according to the manufacturer’s instructions or default to 3-4 minutes if unsure).
  • Add the potatoes and air fry at 390°F (200°C) for about 20 minutes. Then, flip the potatoes and keep cooking them until they are tender (about 15-30 minutes more, depending on the size of the potatoes you’re using). To test if the potatoes are ready, use a fork or knife to pierce the potato. If it pierces easily and it feels tender, then it’s ready. The smaller potatoes you see pictured in the article took a total of about 40 minutes, and the larger ones took 50 minutes.
  • Once they’re ready, plate them up and serve them with your favorite toppings (like sour cream, shredded cheddar, bacon, and more). The fun is only just beginning!
