This prosciutto crostini recipe is a fantastic choice for your next gathering or dinner party.

Prosciutto Crostini Recipe

These delicious appetizers will treat your guests with creamy provolone, delicate prosciutto, juicy tomatoes, and flavorful basil, all on a crispy, golden base.

Ingredients

To make these crostini, you’ll need the following ingredients (for about 20-22 slices).

  • Baguettes – 2 small baguettes (about 20-22 slices)
  • Olive Oil – 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Prosciutto – 6 oz (170 grams) Italian Prosciutto
  • Provolone Cheese – 3.5 oz (100 grams) Provolone cheese
  • Tomatoes – 7 small tomatoes on the vine
  • Fresh Basil – a handful fresh basil
  • Salt – 1 tsp flaky sea salt (or kosher salt)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1 – Slice the baguettes into 1/2-inch slices and brush each side with olive oil.

Step 2 – Grill the bread slices for a couple minutes on each side, on an electric grill, grill pan, or grill. Alternatively, bake the bread slices in the oven at 360°F (180°C) for about 10-12 minutes until crispy on the outside and slightly golden.

Step 3 – Add a thin slice of Provolone cheese to each piece of toast. I used a handheld cheese slicer but you can also use a sharp knife (carefully).

Step 4 – Slice the tomatoes thinly and sprinkle some salt on top.

Step 5 – Top the crostini with tomatoes and fresh basil.

Step 6 – Add the prosciutto on top.

You can serve them on a wooden board (as above) or on a slate board (pictured below).

They’re beautiful to look at and so tasty to bite into.

They will pair well with a wine like Sangiovese or Chianti.
