Season the chicken wings (flats and drumettes) with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, and toss them with a tablespoon of olive oil.
Preheat the air fryer for 3 minutes to 400°F. Once the air fryer is preheated, add the seasoned chicken wings and cook for 8 minutes. Then flip and cook for about 8 minutes on the second side (for a total of 16 minutes). Check if the chicken wings are fully cooked (they are fully cooked when the meat thermometer reads 165°F (74°C). If they’re below the safe temperature of 165°F (74°C), continue cooking them in the air fryer until they reach that temperature. The exact cooking times will vary from air fryer to air fryer.
While the chicken wings are in the air fryer, make the butter sauce. Melt the butter in a small pan over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds. Take the pan off the heat and add the lemon juice, half the parmesan, and finely minced fresh parsley.
Once the chicken wings are out the air fryer, toss them in the butter sauce and top them with the remaining parmesan.
