Ingredients You’ll Need

For one bagel sandwich, you need the following:

Wooden board with the ingredients for two bagel sandwiches
  • Bagel – 1 everything bagel or sesame seed bagel.
  • Bacon – 3 crispy smoked bacon rashers (see notes below for cooking it).
  • Avocado – 1/2 large avocado
  • Tomato – 2-3 thin slices from a large tomato
  • Iceberg Lettuce – 2 iceberg lettuce leaves
  • Mayo – 1 tbsp mayo
  • Lime Juice – a squeeze of lime juice
  • Salt – salt, to taste
  • Pepper – ground black pepper, to taste

Note: Cooking the bacon. You can use your favorite method (e.g., oven, skillet, or air fryer). My favorite method is as follows: Take 2 baking sheets of equal size. Then, place parchment paper or baking paper on one and add the bacon rashers on top. Cover with parchment paper and then place the second baking sheet on top. The second baking sheet keeps them flat, allowing them to get evenly crisp. Bake in the preheated oven at 400°F (or 200°C) until you achieve your desired crispiness. For the ones below, it takes about 20 minutes.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1. Prep everything for assembly.

  • Crisp up the bacon.
  • Scoop up the avocado and mash it, adding a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
  • Season the tomato slices with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Add a squeeze of lime juice to the mayo and a pinch of black pepper to taste.

Do keep in mind the bacon is salty, so don’t use too much salt.

Step 3. Serve the sandwich. If you want to serve it for a more substantial meal like dinner, you could pair it with some parmesan potato wedges and a salad like this avocado, tomato, and mozzarella salad.
