Sparkling Peach Sangria (with Fresh Peaches and Cava)
This sparkling peach sangria has delightful sweetness in every sip. This peach-themed twist on an iconic drink mixes chilled Cava and Peach Schnapps with fresh peaches, orange, and lemon, served over ice. This really is a great drink for happy hour at home with friends to kick off the weekend.
What You’ll Need
First things first, let’s assemble our ingredients. You’ll need the following:
- Cava – 1 bottle of chilled Cava (or another brut/dry sparkling white wine)
- Peach Schnapps – 1 1/2 cup Peach Schnapps
- Fresh Peaches – 2 ripe peaches
- Orange Juice – 1 cup fresh orange juice
- Orange – 1 orange
- Lemon – 1 lemon
- Ice, to serve
Ingredient Notes:
- Sweetness: Peach Schnapps is generally quite sweet, so the Sangria is sweet enough from the combination of Peach Schnapps and fresh orange juice (without adding any additional sugar). However, if you find you want this a bit sweeter, you can add simple syrup. You can buy simple syrup or you can easily make it at home by dissolving sugar in water (1 cup sugar to 1 cup water) and then cooling it down. You can also add more Peach Schnapps but consider that will increase the alcohol content further.
How to Make it (with Photos)
Step 1 – Cut the orange and lemon in half and then into thin slices. Cut the peaches into small cubes or thin slices (to your preference). Add all the cut fruit to a pitcher with the orange juice and Peach Schnapps and mix it in.
Step 2—Option 1: Pour the chilled Cava (slowly) into the pitcher, lightly mix it, and bring the pitcher to the table to serve guests. Add the ice to the serving glasses and then pour the sangria from the pitcher into the glasses.
Option 2: Distribute the pitcher contents (the fruit, orange juice, and Peach schnapps) into 6 glasses, add ice, and top with Cava. This is a good option if you don’t have a large enough pitcher to hold the Sangria (at least 1.8 liters (64 oz)).
It really is that simple! I cannot get enough of how rich, sweet, and satisfyingly crisp this sangria is. It’s so simple, but can really add a touch of class to any al fresco dining, happy hour at home, or a potluck.
Enjoy in good company, and if you made it and loved it, please leave a review below.
