Ham and Cheese Wraps with Roasted Peppers

For those days I need something quick, these easy ham and cheese wraps can be a real lifesaver. You can make them in just five minutes, and make for a perfect packed lunch to take to work or on the go. You can also have them for lunch at home when you don’t feel like cooking.

This simple, filling wrap consists of sliced ham, cheese, roasted peppers, cream cheese, and mustard tightly packed and rolled in a soft white tortilla. If you love lunches like this, you may also enjoy this ham and cheese panini.

Ingredients You Will Need

To make two smoked ham and cheese wraps, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Tortillas – 2 flour tortillas (8-inch diameter)
  • Ham – 4 oz deli ham slices (honey roast, crumbed ham, Black Forest ham)
  • Cheese – 4 oz sliced Cheddar cheese (mature/sharp)
  • Roasted Peppers – 2 roasted peppers (storebought jarred or homemade roasted peppers)
  • Cream Cheese – 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • Mustard – 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt – a pinch of salt
  • Pepper – a pinch of ground black pepper

Ingredient Notes

  • Cheese. Other cheeses that pair well with ham in this wrap include Gouda, Swiss cheese, Gruyere, and Provolone.
  • Mustard. While Dijon is preferable, you could also use yellow mustard (milder) or honey mustard (slightly sweeter).

Make it in 3 Easy Steps

Step 1. To the flour tortillas, add the ingredients in the following order: mustard, ham, cream cheese, a pinch of salt and pepper, roasted pepper, and cheese.

Step 2. Roll the tortillas tightly.

Step 3. Cut the wraps in half and either serve right away or pack them to go.

If keeping them at room temperature, make sure it’s no longer than 2 hours (or 1 hour on hot days). Refrigerate them if you’re planning to eat them later than that timeframe. For the best flavor, eat the wraps within a day.

Making it to go? I packed mine up in a lunch box with sliced nectarines and fresh strawberries. This is a really simple lunch that is tasty, filling, and can be assembled in 5 minutes. Over time, all those lunchtime meal deals and coffee shop sandwiches add up, so these adult lunch boxes with wraps like this one can be a great habit to get into.
